You won't need 'four and twenty'; this little dicky bird Pie Funnel is more than up to the job! Especially helpful for fruit pies, place the funnel in the centre of the pie, it stops the filling bubbling out, and lets steam escape to keep the pastry crisp.

Used this in my apple pie last weekend and the filling stayed put, no more burnt mess at the bottom of the oven. The little bird shape actually holds the top crust up nicely while it bakes, and it's easy to wash after.
My cherry pie used to leak all over the oven floor, but this little bird in the center caught every bit of the bubbling filling. The hole in the top let steam escape without making a mess, and the pie came out perfectly intact.
I used the funnel for a peach pie last weekend and the steam holes kept the filling from bubbling over completely, which has never happened with my other pies. The little bird shape is a nice touch that guests kept commenting on.
